While the short answer is yes, the more accurate answer is that you probably wouldn't want to change it much anyway — and "stuck with" is certainly not the best way to look at it.

Our birth chart, the natal Horoscope, is a symbolic representation of the positions of the Planets, Sun, and Moon at the exact date and time of our birth, from the perspective of our birth place.  So in that respect, that's our chart...period.  

Suggesting strengths, talents, challenges, needs, and motivations, the chart is our virtual toolbox or a blueprint for what we can become.  What sort of life we construct with these tools is largely up to us.  Efficient use of this information provides us with the means and the direction to grow and evolve.  It is certainly advantageous for us to learn how to work with our tools rather than futilely complaining about the astrological hand we've been dealt.

Early on in life we often struggle as we become familiar with and then learn to balance the many facets of ourselves.  We learn that there are consequences of all our actions and decisions — some more positive than others.

It's often been said that we use only a small portion of our brain's capabilities.  I'd like to submit that the same is also true for our Natal Horoscopes.  The unique combination of influences described by each individual Horoscope has an almost unfathomable potential.  In this regard, we use only the metaphorical tip of the iceberg in our charts.  

The enhanced self-understanding made possible through astrology can help us to recognize and begin to realize our inborn potential.  While it's probably true that very few of us actually reach our full potential, it's hard to dispute that each of us does indeed possess that potential.  But if we aren't aware of this potential or don't have the direction, drive, or motivation to work toward it, we likely won't come very close to accomplishing what we're capable of.

Thankfully, our individual destinies are not pre-ordained.  Active involvement is required to maximize our inborn potential. There are endless options — and often some detours along the way — that determine what we can ultimately accomplish.
