Some of you may have heard
the term "Mercury Retrograde" and wonder what it means, while
others of you may already be all too familiar with the typical manifestations of this phenomenon where Mercury
(as viewed from the Earth) seems to be traveling backwards in
comparison to its normal direction. Since
Mercury rules communications, travel, and our thought processes, it really
should be no surprise that when this aberration of normality occurs we
often experience delays, miscommunication, mental lapses, along with
technical or electrical breakdowns.
By being aware of the dates affected by
Mercury Retrograde (abbreviated "Rx" - but no, this really isn't
a
hangover from my days as a pharmacist) we can often avoid some of
the confusion and unpleasantness with which it is normally associated. It’s a good idea to avoid signing any important documents
during these times if possible and to confirm and reconfirm appointments
and scheduled events to assure that everybody is on the same page. Misunderstandings seem to be very frequent during these
periods. Also, when traveling it is often a good idea to leave a
little extra time for unexpected delays (e.g. time between connecting
flights, etc.)
This very interesting phenomenon is often easily
observable in our lives. If
you or your friends are not too familiar with astrology or still are a little
skeptical about this whole astrology ‘thing’, this is often a good way
to observe how the practical applications of astrology can impact
our daily lives.
