Midpoints
and Aries Points
for the Virginia Tech Shooter |
While
the
birth time of the Virginia Tech Shooter is unknown at this time, we do
know that
he was born January 18, 1984 in Seoul, South Korea. As an alternative to
doing a complete rectification to extrapolate a birth time, we can examine
his known midpoints and Aries Points as we
attempt to gain insight into his motivation.
The
interpretation of midpoints necessarily encompasses the full range of
expectations, from the most positive and productive to the least.
Midpoints suggest what can be—not
what will be. However,
the
cumulative interpretation gains substance as we see similar themes
repeated and reinforced, with these repeated themes given added credence.
In
cases without
a definitive birth time, we must exclude any midpoint pictures
that contain the Ascendant, Midheaven, or Moon as any part of the
equation. The remaining midpoint pictures for the Virginia Tech shooter
and their associated interpretive suggestions follow:
Ve = Ju/Ur
(closest midpoint
picture)
Note:
Because
Venus is unaspected (no Ptolemaic aspect to another planet)
it gains even more importance. This unaspected status
applies to all midpoint pictures with Venus as the Focal Point (on
the left side of the equation) and in these pictures, the social,
aesthetic, or relationship traits are not well integrated with the
rest of the chart. Social,
aesthetic, or relationship needs can be accomplished through expansive
innovation and exploration; unrestrained individualistic
expression; unapologetic, opinionated rebelliousness; possible
recklessness or devil-may-care attitude
Ve = Ur/Ne
…innovative or
imaginative dreams or visions; eccentric fantasy; possible clouded
or concealed individuality or eccentricity
Ve = Su/Sat
…ambitious,
determined, structured approach to ego fulfillment and life
purpose; illuminated ambition; controlled or restrained ego
Ve = Ju/N.Node
…optimistic,
expansive dealings with the public; an effusive public persona
Ve = Ne/N.Node
…connection with the
public using dreams or visions; a mysterious, chameleon-like
public image; possibly deceiving or concealing something from the
public
Me = Su/Ur
Efficient thoughts and
communication can be accomplished through
Innovative, eccentric approach to life purpose;
illumination of individuality; revolutionary spirit; possibly
feeling above the rules
AP = Ne = Me/Ju
Potential for public
projection as well as sensitivity, inspiration, creative
visualization, fantasy, or escape can be accomplished through
expansive, enthusiastic, optimistic thoughts, ideas, and
communication; uncensored; open-minded; stretching the boundaries
of the mind; possible tendency to verbosity, to over-embellish, or
exaggerate
N.Node = Su/Pl
Relationship with the
public can be accomplished through powerful ego urges;
self-assertion; compelling need to leave one’s mark or make a
big difference
N.Node = Su/Ma
…utilization of
energy in pursuit of life purpose, relentless energy for ego
definition and self-promotion
AP = Ju/Ne
Potential for public
projection can be accomplished through expansive, unrestricted
visions; believing in the dream; possible unrealistic optimism,
delusions of grandeur; unclear goals, or excessive escapism
These interpretive midpoint and Aries Point phrases have
been used verbatim from my book, Midpoints:
Identify & Integrate Midpoints Into Horoscope Synthesis, solely
based on the midpoint pictures. Certainly, we
can refine these midpoint and AP references and fine-tune our analysis as
additional details become known. Regardless, I find it fascinating that
this relatively simple analysis can quickly suggest the range of expectations—even
with an unknown birth time.
