Aspect Grid Analysis (Part II)

"99% of genius is knowing what is important."

Albert Einstein

Continuing last month's analysis, we'll look at the following aspect grid, and see what we can glean from the grid without using any other astrological information. It is hard to imagine any real-life scenario where we would have only the aspect grid to do a full analysis. The purpose of this exercise is, rather, to highlight and appreciate the wealth of information contained in the aspect grid.

Last month, we looked at the conjunctions and oppositions. This month, as promised, we will look at the Squares, Trines, and Sextiles.

First, the Squares indicate areas of tension that connect two planets or points. There is an innate motivation to work to incorporate these influences in an attempt to alleviate the tension.

Moon Square Mercury

Emotional fulfillment needs create tension with efficient thoughts and communication. Communicating needs to have an emotional component.

Sun Square Node

Life purpose and ego definition create tension in the relationship with the public. There is a need for the ego to make an impact publicly.

Venus Square Neptune

Social, aesthetic, or relationship needs create tension with sensitivity, inspiration, creative visualization, fantasy, or escape. Social relationships may be ambiguous or unclear.

Jupiter Square Neptune

Optimism, expansion (or excess), or rewards and recognition create tension with sensitivity, inspiration, creative visualization, fantasy, or escape. Unbridled, unrestrained imagination.

Next, the Trinethe "fairy godmother" of all aspectsencourages using a blend of the influence of the two planets or points harmoniously, smoothly, and relatively easily.

Mercury Trine Neptune

Efficient thoughts and communication present opportunities by harmoniously working with sensitivity, inspiration, creative visualization, fantasy, or escape.

Mercury Trine Node

Efficient thoughts and communication present opportunities to connect to the public.

Mars Trine Neptune

Efficient use of energy presents opportunities by harmoniously working with sensitivity, inspiration, creative visualization, fantasy, or escape

Saturn Trine Node

Structure, stability, and necessary controls present opportunities through harmoniously working with the public.

Uranus Trine Midheaven

Individualistic expression or innovation present opportunities by harmoniously working with career pursuits, the profession, and the public image.

Node Trine Ascendant

Relationship with the public presents opportunities to harmoniously define identity and refine personal projection.

Finally, the Sextile forms a supportive relationship between the two planets or points, allowing free and easy interaction between them.

Neptune Sextile Pluto

This generational aspect suggests sensitivity, inspiration, creative visualization, fantasy, or escape to support power needs; sweeping dramatic change; empowerment, a new perspective, and transformation.

The repetitive influence of Neptune is emphasized in these aspects as it interacts with Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, and Pluto.

To be continued next month as we look at "Unaspected Planets"
