Continuing
our discussion from the past six months, the energy of planets in
the natal 12th house are often less accessible or more difficult to tap into than other placements.
Jupiter
is the planet that represents expansion, optimism, reward, and excess. When
Jupiter is in the 12th
house, we may feel a sense of restrained expansion (withdrawal or need to
be alone), diminished optimism (pessimism or depression), more elusive
rewards, or a
behind-the-scenes expression of excesses (as with alcohol or drug abuse).
A
positive manifestation of Jupiter in the 12th is a "guardian
angel" presence. Several of my clients with this placement
confirm that when things look most hopeless, when they're at the brink of
disaster, they're rescued at the last possible moment.
High
profile people with Natal Jupiter in the 12th include:
Lunar
astronaut Buzz Aldrin (depression and alcoholism)
Alcohol
and/or drug involvement plagued actors Gary Busey and River Phoenix, and
President U.S. Grant.
WWII
war hero Audie Murphy was "both brave and lucky during the war"*
became a Hollywood star, but also was a womanizer, a compulsive gambler,
and both alcohol and drugs had a detrimental effect on his life.
Behind-the-scenes
sexual excesses proved problematic or worse for teenage prostitute Amy
Fischer, director Roman Polanski, actor Bob Crane.
Accused
rapist William Kennedy Smith was acquitted although actor Robert Blake's
fate has yet to be decided by the courts.
Diamond
Jim Brady, Ross Perot, Paul Newman, Tom Hanks, Wayne Gretsky all have
natal Jupiter in the 12th and may be considered to have led "charmed
lives".
Polish
Union Leader Lech Walesa gained tremendous popular support, but British
Prime Minister Tony Blair hasn't fully cashed in on the "guardian
angel" concept.
